This started out as a ball that wouldn't stay put. I super glued, I rubber banded and then just gave up that it would never settle down. Well now it has 6 inches above the sand bed. I have no idea how it managed to get up there!!!
It looks like a green hairy shroom to me also. If it's the same as the ones I have they get huge & will actually eat very small fish when they get bigger. I've seen mine do it to 2 barbershop gobies.
Andy- I do remember it. I was really sure the pink one was Yuma and I have an orange Ric. The green one though doesn't look like either of them. The green has it's "tentacles" in little neat rows radiating from the mouth- I have looked at lots of pics and thought maybe St Thomas? or Rhodactis?
yes, what you attached i\last is a ric...Yuma is a close cousin, but the bubbling tips are the most distinct way I know of to tell the difference....the bubbling is a Yuma....thats what the original looks like to me.
I appreciate the help. I gave my sister a piece of it after the rubber band disaster (it split into pieces where the rubber band touched) and neither of us was sure what it was. Newbies!!!
Andy- Let your dear wife know that all the polyps are open and beautiful!!
