Okay everybody I need some help on this one, I have posted pictures on my local club thread and everyone seems to think this is majano and someone threw out the idea of of a rock anemone. When I bought the rock it is mounted on the girl I bought it from said there was a rock anemone on it so I am thinking that might be what it is. Now with the LED lighting I have above my tank it is green and I can get a new picture of that tonight if anybody would like to see that. Thank you all for looking.

It's very hard to tell from that picture. How big is this anemone? How long have you had it. And yes, an updated picture would help.

Pretty sure it's not a rock anemone. They have short tentacles that are only attached around the perimeter. That anemone's tentacles are too long and too close to the mouth. It is almost definitely a majano anemone. MAYBE a BTA but I doubt it and we need a good shot of the mouth to be sure.

Okay I will try to get a good shot of it tonight. As far as size, when it is out all the way I would say 3-4" across.

Well every majano I've seen was smaller than a half dollar, so I'm gonna swing more towards BTA now. A better picture will definitely help. The pic you have makes it look pretty small.

Okay well since the lighting change it hasn't really been opening up and well I don't have a really good camera, so this is the cell phone but you can't tell what color it really is. The color on it now is a green and the other day I saw one of the tenticales (swelling up) kinda like the BTA's.

Okay well I was walking by my tank today and I saw it and this is what it looked like. I don't know if this helps but I hope it does...to me it is looking like a GBTA.

Yeah, if it was under an inch in size I'd say majano but is definitely too big for that so I would agree that it is a GBTA.

I would have to say majano anemone, I have several and I like them- they harm no one and are far less pervasive then apstasia- a good critter IMHO. They show up on good quality LR quite often. However, the pic's do not seem to match- I see one that looks like a BT and another that looks like a majano. confused? Majano's resemble paly's on steroids.
