Can anyone tell me what these guys are? I've seen 3 now swimming around in my tank after adding my TBS. At first I thought this pic was 2 of them burying their heads in the sand but this may actually be one animal and both it's head and tail look the same.

take a clear plastic tupperware, and scoop it out. see if there is only one, or if its two... look at the body structure, things like that.

The are 3 total in the tank, this is just one of them. You are seeing both the head and the tail in this pic. The body is the same from head to tail. Very thin, eel-like.

Runner,
It is hard to tell from the picture, but it looks like a flat worm, if you want a positive id I would contact LeslieH and get her to ID it. However, you are going to probably need a better photo of it. Try to get it out and into a small container with water from tank. Take the best photo you can and leslie may be able to ID it. She works with worms every day.

They are lanclets!

sand cleaning critters!!
TBS

Damn...TBS beat me to it. I had some lanclets in my tank that cam in my TBS sand. They are pretty cool and fast when they dart out of the sand. They disappear fairly quickly in home tanks though.

Awesome, thanks!

They are definitely fast and I don't think there is any way I'd catch them. They are there one second and gone the next.
