Not sure if the photo is clear enough. Found this growing in the sump. Any ideas?

A description would help, as well as a picture NOT taken under blue lighting. Based upon the picture, it could be sponge, but it could also be a leafy algae. Color, texture and a clearer picture would help.

Agree, that's a bad picture.

But I would guess q-tip/pineapple sponge.

Rule #1 of ID pictures is to turn the blue channel off or way down.. All that destroys proper color rendition and quite often doesn't allow a camera to focus properly.
Both are important for identification pictures..

I'm leaning toward pineapple sponges. Look them up and see if it matches.
