ID please

What kind of mantis is this? Any idea how big they get, lifespan, spearer or smasher etc. Help appreciated

hahahahah!!!! H. californiensis!!!!! I'm sorry, but I cannot think of a worse species!!! they have not been held in captivity for...oh i dunno...more than 4 months. They grow a fungus that slowly suffocates them. And they can't make burrows. And they need a 55 gallon chilled aquarium......As for the orginial mantis i'm thinking its not a haptosquillid because it is 3-4". Most Haptosquillids are smaller than that I think...don't feel like checking....Falcatus maybe......

Ok I guess I don't want one, I was skimming the different species and spotted it.
 
my lfs has a platy for sale, (last time i was there..) its very very tempting... but my wife wont let me get rid of her cleaner shrimps...

Definately a platy... I have one just like it.

What can you tell me about them? How big are they, personality etc.
 
I'm going to go with platy as well. They are very mild tempered and don't explore much. Mine ALWAYS had his head sticking out of the hole looking around though.
