these little fuzzy tubed things keep popping up all over my tank. their quite ugly and dont really look like feather dusters so i was wondering what they were. a few eve sprouted up at the base of my hammer's head.

sounds good to me! is it ok for 2 of them to be at the base of the hammer's head? almost touching the flesh?

yup, sponge. Great for your tank, as far as your Hammer, I have no clue, but I would assume it would be okay. The only downside is that it may irritate it b/c its an obstruction. I'd remove it. Its not like its the only one in your tank, so I'm sure u wont miss it.

man, i had so many of these things in my HOB skimmer that the darn thing stopped working..lol... they multiply like carzy in my tank and love my filters.

Haha same, they clogged my pumper, and i had that problem for so long, but now its like they all died away

Yep, harmless scypha sponges. They just seem to come and go as your tank matures.
