ID por favor

they are zoas and eventually they will if they are not simply brown zoas.

I have similar Zoas (or maybe Platys?) come as hitchhikers on my live rock as well. Mine stay brown under white light, but fluoresce green under actinics.

I would go with common palythoa sp. They can color up under the right lighting (mine got very deep green). They can also spread rapidly. Most importantly, they can secrete palytoxin when disturbed, so gloves and eye protection should be worn when handling them.

Yup simple palythoa. Kill them now before they spread to plague proportions.

I dumped all the rock from my previous when I upgraded because within a year they were everywhere. As a beginner I thought they looked cool and were easy to take care of. Now they have no place in my tank.

Oh dang. How do I kill them?
