I left for business for two weeks, leaving my spouse to feed the tank. When I came home I had every type of algae known. I have gotten the GHA under control and am still battling cyano. However this green stuff is pretty stubborn.

Tank: bio cube 29 5 months old
Nitrates: 2ppm
Lights: stock PC 5 months old, blues on 8hr. White 6 hr.
Phosphates: not measuring but I'm sure rocks are getting into leech mode. Added chemipure to media basket only a week ago.

Upped my CUC last week as well and they are making good progress on all but the cyano (as expected) and this green stuff.

Is it green cyano?

If it comes off the rocks with ease then it's most likely Cyanobacteria. If not, then it's probably just green Coralline algae. This does come in a variety of colors. GL.

Cyanobacteria most likely. For a quick fix just siphon it out. You can either rinse the sand thoroughly and put it back in the tank or just toss it.
