That looks like Caulerpa prolifera to me.

I have heard that prolifera is toxic to tangs if eaten. Is this true?

I know Caulerpa prolifera makes at least a couple toxic chemicals. I suspect some tangs can eat it and some are sensitive to the chemicals. What kind of tang do you have?
