Id This Clam!!!

Welcome to ID This, Please! where contestants try and identify a mysterious marine lifeform.

Today's contestant is Michael_T and he has an interesting calm he found on a washed up piece of bamboo on a Texas beach. The calm has a thick meaty red foot that is attached to the floating log. The shell is white with a dark line running across it and some yellow.

Thanks kpendarvis. So, will this thing take over my tank, or what?

It will probably slowly starve because the filter feed on floating plankton and debris. This is difficult to accomplish in a tank. But tiny feather dusters seem to get by just fine, so maybe it is worth a try. It would definitely be an interesting addition.

I decided to keep them out of the tank. Maybe when i get a sump I will add some there. Might be the ideal environment.

Sump sounds good. Lots of great food can collect down there. Expecially if you don't screen the overflow water.
