ID worm thing & LED from friend.

Does anyone have any idea what this thing on my frogspawn is? I've never seen it before. It doesn't seem to be affecting the frogspawn, but it is getting bigger.


Here's something I'm working on, my friend from VN sent the LED over. It looks much like the ones on E Bay. I'm making the enclosure out of some scrap metal I found. I would really like to test out the pur on them.

I never touched it so idk..It looks soft. It does look like a vermited snail though.

Kinda looks like a vermited snail to me. Nothing a butter knife cant handle if you pull the coral and pop the vermited snail off the stalk

How would u measure the pur of the light? I didn't think there was a sensor that can measure pur???

So its not anything good and I should remove it ASAP?

Woops, I meant PAR and was hoping for a way to find out the PUR compared to other lights..

There is no way to measure pur just par. There is no chart to convert.

I'm guessing those are 100w multi chip LEDs. What spectrum are they and what are your plans for them?

Yeah its just a multi chip, hard to tell what wattage it is, they make them all the way from 10w and up.

I'm going to run 2 of them over a 90 gallon with 2 T5s and see how it turns out. If it turns out too blue, I probably won't add any other blue light as I don't really like too much blue.
They're taking ~2.5 amps at 36V from my power supply and are slightly blue, I'll take a photo when I get home.

I also received 2 CREE pucks with 11 blue leds soldered on them and the pcb is solid copper.
