ideal tank size

I would like to plan a tank for a haddoni and skunk clowns. The tank would largely be centered around the clowns and carpet. There may be a few other fish but not realy important, as for coral, maybe a few frags from other tanks as they fit.

What would be an ideal size for this tank? Dont worry about sticking with a standard size as I dont mind making a tank.

Well it seems that bare minimum is 55 gallons but I'd go bigger. If you were to build one, might I suggest 3 foot by 3 or 4 foot by 18+ inches tall? You're gonna lose a few inches with sand but if deep enough I think that would be absolutely amazing looking.

I was actually thinking 30"x30"x20" so a bit bigger wouldnt be to bad. Ill have to measure the place I want to put it to see if it will fit.

That sounds like pretty nice setup. The only reason I say 3 feet is because they get about that size and if it's off center at all it'll be climbing one side. Ideally (for an artistic look) you would do 4x4 so it would never touch any side but that's starting to get pretty hefty, even at only 20 inches deep.

yes I think 4'x4'x20" would be a fairly big foot print. I think it would look odd only being 20" deep.

Might also consider, 36-40" wide, 24-30" deep and 20-24" tall, if I went with these dimensions I think I would have someone build me the tank.

Actually, my fault, the Gigantea is the big one. Apparently the Haddoni only gets about 24 inches so your original size would probably be ok.

I was going to suggest a 40 breeder as the smallest, and maybe ideal. At 36" x 18" it's a good footprint for any of the medium size anemones.

Just make sure your front to back is more than 12" My crispa is already too big for my 45.

A 60 gallon cube would be nice for it

For a haddoni, just make sure you are planning on a sand bed. It doesn't have to be TOO deep, but you will need sand - so subtract several inches from your water column because you will need sand on the bottom.

yup planning on 3-4" sand bed, That leaves me 16" of water, should be fine.
