Identification please someone

No pictures yet, but they are coming.

They look like serpent starfish tentacles, but much smaller, longer, and red/white bands like coral banded shrimp. They also look hairy.

They are coming out of the end of a branch rock recently purchased.

Two "tentacles" come out of each end with no visible body. Are these some kind of worms? They are almost up to 2" each at times.

What are they and are they bad?

I have seen brittle stars hidden in the rockwork just sticking a couple arms out. they can have bands on their arms. I have also seen worm tentacles that are very thin with little bands waving around for dust.

hydroids are an anemone on a stick, so this doesn't sound like that. :D
