I don't have a pic to show yet but the snail is one i've never seen before. The foot of the snail is about 2/3 the size of a margarita snail and it appears to work on algae on the glass like the other snails. However, the shell on top is nothing like I've seen before. It is only about 1/3 the size of the snail, grayish in color, and has a plate like shell sitting on the back of the snail. It is quite flat with only a little bit of shape to the shell. The snail kind of reminds me of a roman soldier with his shield thrown over his back. Anyways, after dark last night I observed one of these guys (which were hitchhikers) appear to be belching some type of gas or something else into the water. It picked its back end (or front end, it is very hard to tell) towards the surface and opened wide, belching that stuff. If anyone could help me I'd appreciate it. I just want to make sure it isn't dangerous in my tank. I've read about some hitchhiker snails being poisonous and don't want to get mixed up with that. Thanks guys!
