Idol Tanks

he had an awesome tank, i chatted with him a few times online, really nice guy, i hope he didnt leave the hobby for good, but it has been quite some time since i last saw him online or saw him post.

his website no longer exists either :(

He was saving components for a new large tank (250g ish) but he sold all that hardware last summer. Bunch of Deltec stuff, lumenarcs etc... I spoke w/some of his DC/VA/MD friends at MACNA and they have not heard from him quite some time.

I love that style of system. Do you have any links to this or similar tanks?

Hard to be convinced to go bare bottom after looking at these tanks. Most have sand, and not all that deep either.

Interesting.

one of the best threads ive read/looked at. i just book marked it for ideas/inspiration.
keep em coming. my favouriate so far is the orgeon reef.

Mine would have to be Alexander Gers from Germany. Simply, Sweet....

Me too. I want to emulate the Japanese tanks when I get a new one (hopefully soon). BTW, here's a link to a previous RC thread on Japanese tanks. Lot's of great pics.

Not many BB's in the group. Interesting.....

Yes, it is interesting. I think I saw at least 1 starboard tank....but most are shallow sand beds....I'm sure we'll see more BB now that you've mentioned it. I don't think it says anything really...except maybe that sand looks better in a display tank.
