If I have 2 waveboxes can they be linked together?

I just want to make sure I am not required to buy the extension for them to work together. I may be able to get one from a friend to go with my current one but I need it to work as an extension. His is the normal full wavebox just like mine.

The only difference is the wavebox includes a controller. Just share one controller and it will work.
