If I were to start a seahorse tank what do i need

The idea popped into my head at work today, why not get a seahorse tank for the wife??

But then the sad realization of how delicate and fussy they are hit home. BUT are they actually a big deal to look after?? What does a guy need for equipment??

Any links or suggestions..?

As far as equipments goes...probably not any more than a normal reef tank minus all food competitors. There is a forum for seahorse care that can answer your other question.

i have been in that seahorse forum but it seems to be mostly ID stuff

and yes clapton is god. did you check out thte crossroads festival last weekend

Seahorses are very temperamental. Pay close attention to water conditions. It's also important that they're eating frozen foods at the LFS.

make sure your water conditions are straight and try to get an adult one since they will be past the hardest stage as far as keeping them alive..

When they are young getting them to eat sometimes becomes an issue.
