Hey guys! just thought I would pop in and say hello. I am from R.A.R.E. Redding Area Reef Enthusist. Several of us from Redding will be comming down to attend the frag swap on 2/10/07 and we are very excited.

Can't wait to meet you all!

Oh just thought I would mention I have only been into the reefs for about a year now. So while I am still pretty new to it, I think I have gotten down maintaining a basic tank set up fairly well. I have had one crash in the year, and it was three months in. Which I guess is fairly common.

I have only been maintaining soft corals with a candy cane LPS 4 small fish, and a couple typical inverts cleaner shrimp and such.

I just ordered a new T5 set up to move into the bigger stuff like SPS and clams. And hoping to pick up a couple basic SPSs while down there at the swap.

all my softies are pretty basic but I have one pretty good colored zoa, and my candy cane fragged and ready to go. Just searching my tank for one more thing to frag.

Did I mention I was excited???

I guess this guy wants a cookie...........

I don't see you listed as an active BAR member, so please don't go misrepresenting BAR with your negative and condescending attitude.

Twisted is just psyched about the upcoming frag swap, as are a lot of people. If you personally lack reef motivated enthusiasm, and/or just don't like seeing it in others, then I suggest that you try some other forum/web site with a different main theme.

I agree.. I hope that we can make it, I am stoked about it also, but in a bittersweet way since we may have to pass until the next one due to some scheduling conflicts :(. If we make it then we will definitely look forward to meeting Twisted and the other R.A.R.E. members that are making the trip :)

dang it.. I really wish I could go as well and meet all the folks here on RC and meet other folks from other groups...

darn it's too bad you guys can't go. we should have an unofficial trade day somewhere =) Trade and Lunch!?

Do I still get a cookie? So is there an expected number of people to run out?

sorry I am excited this is only my second frag swap, alameda being my first.

Back OT, You Redding folks will enjoy the swap. It's definitely worth the trip and it is something to get excited about. I haven't been disappointed by one yet ( Too bad there won't be any Vince's steak sandwiches).

Side note: make sure you bring a big cooler, some extra cash and make it a point to stop by BAR's sponsors. They are great shops and well worth the visit.

Yup, bringing extra cash, and a couple coolers! I think there is like 12 or so of us comming down from Redding, so we will probablly have three or four cars.
Sadly we will not have all day to mess around like we would like due to the long drive back home after the frag swap. So what stores do you guys suggest I visit while we are there?
I figure I will only have enough time to hit three stores figuring I don't know my way around down there, so was going to look them up and map them out before hand.

I actually just ordered a 6X54w T5 set up for my 55 gallon so I can support SPS now too! woot!

a BIG ditto on that. If the swap is being held in the same location that it was last year, there are some really great shops that are really close....
