FYI the free-for-all has in the past not been that great of a free-for-all, trust me I know because I was helping people choose between the kenya tree frags or the bag of brown water marked "Xenia" :)

I got a golden leptastrea that bookfish brought because no one knew what it was. :)

ASAP is a Wholesaler, so you won't be able to buy anything from them specifically, the "bring money" bit I think was a reference to the raffle.

I was referring to Atlantis, but I always put in for the raffle.

Ahhh gotcha Hector, yeah, bring money for the other cool stores in the area.

But yeah Jim collects some unique stuff sometimes, and people simply just don't know what the heck it is :) What I was implying was that it's not like you're going to get a ton of cool things from the free-for-all, unless of course the Kenya/Colt combos are your thing :)

That's fo' sho'. Yeah Kenya tree seems to be a popular free for all item. Same goes for star polyps. In the raffle, I won a poccilipora one year. It was the size of a grapefruit.

Twist, bring a "cold item" cooler too. Often times there are free food samples or you can buy frozen and refrigerated foods you can't get locally. There's something Mike forgot.

yea... some people in the past only brought one cooler and ended up putting the corals in with the cold stuff :eek1:, needless to say there was not much left in terms of the livestock by the time they got home :(

Yah, I've put the colder stuff outside, I figure that stuff is fairly bullet proof that as long as I don't blast the car at 80F the entire ride home it'll keep for an hour. And if it's been as cold as it has been no problems!

Well We will make sure we bring a couple coolers. That is one of our biggest problems is a 4 hour drive home and keeping them alive, and well.
But they will be in an ice chest in the bed of the truck with a hard tonue cover type shell on it, so the trip there and the trip back should be fairly safe for them.

Ok, I'm back. So who lives in the area of the frag swap that wants to guide a few cars from up north to a few of the better stores down there?

We want to hit 6th street but probablly not until we are on our way out of town. I know I get lost every time I am down there. so I figure if someone wanted to take the time to show us a few good stores it would help, and be much appreciated.

Well, now everyone knows what it is and on Tyrees LE list it was reserved through 2008 last I checked.

6th Ave? :eek1:

yeah 6th ave. Why is that a bad place? A friend of mine saw they had a brand of tanks that were $1 a gallon we wanted to see what they were. Are they garbage?

Sorry like I said the bay area is some place I rarely get to, so I am lost when I get down there. So no idea what stores to try and hit.

it just has a less than stellar reputation for quality. The old addage : You get what you paid for; most definitely applies there.

Hecta - When R U going to show off your new cube tank? LMK

Twisted - There was a RARE crew who made it out to Karl's Regional Club Frag Swap awhile ago, so the format will be similar - just much, much larger and crazzzier!

Scott

And hopefully people will be just as chill as they were at Karl's swap :)

I really appreciated that when I was there!

This will be my first swap, so outside of bringing the $$$, the coolers, and of course the frags, any other etiquette we should be aware of?
Great question!

I do like Hector's suggestion about the fried chicken :)

How about some tips and comments from other swap veterans?

:)
