Hello,

I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. Im new here although i have been lurking in the shadows for quite a while. Im from Rochester NY. Ive had a saltwater tank for 5 years or so now, but am just now finally going to take the plunge and try to do something more than FOWLR . I have been ready these boards and others for about 2 years and have been slowly building my master plan (insert evil cackle). I saw that there was a local reefing group and figured i should look into it.

Actually no, way back in the daymy IRC chatname was going to be variableboy but being prone to typos i misspelled it. Ive kept it the same ever since, its actually quite handy as its never taken by anyone else because its misspelled:)
 
:beer: Welcome, you're gonna love it around here. I'm pretty new around these parts as well and the members around this corner of the forum are knowledgable and great people. :)
 
Welcome to the URS Keith , We have a ton of great minds lurking these threads.. remeber a mind isa terrible thing to waste. Oh and you must supply a frag to all members who came before you lol
 
Its great to have such wonderfull and welcoming people on here. Im hopeing to post some more information about what id like to do soon, that way all you smart people can point out the tons of mistakes before i make them:)
 
Hi Keith. There's a LOT of really smart and Reef experienced people in the URS. I trust the opinions given here even more than the published "experts".

You hit the jackpot!!!!, this is the best reef club going, with actully having a "real" meeting...maybe thats the seceret...anywho. lots of great info to be found here.

This is the best reef club forum. After reading all the recommended books, I've found that reefcentral and URS is kinda like continuing education. The technology and methods in this hobby develope so quickly, you have to depend on a forum like this to keep informed. And although I've only been to one frag meet, so far, it was definitley an enlightening experience. I hope you make lots of reefy friends.:D
