Hi! I just wanted to introduce myself. I've been keeping freshwater fish for years but have recently taken the dive into SW. I currently have a 2.5 gal Pico reef that has been going for a little over a year now. It's an AGA 2.5 gal tank with a Red Sea deco art nano HOB filter running carbon and phosguard and filter material and an AC 20 HOB running Live rock rubble with a mini heater in the AC 20. Standard incandescent hood with a screw in 10 watt compact 50/50 bulb. I keep mushrooms, kenya tree, zoanthids, Palythoa, button polyps, and green star polyps.
I'm in the slow process of setting up a 46 gal reef. I really would love all the help and advice I can get. I actually found M.A.R.S. on another forum a few months ago, but tonight found the flyer for the frag swap. I'm glad I called and was directed here.
I thought I would post a pic of my Pico. It will be torn down once the 46 gal is up. Which I am actually having a hard time finding out how to do. I will post one as soon as I figure it out.
So, anyway....I guess Hi! :D
 
Welcome to the forum. We'd love to help with your 46 gallon. Feel free to post questions here and everyone will try to help. Plus, we have a number of members in the Rocklin/Roseville area that I'm sure would be willing to help out in person if you need it.

Petes..... thank you and I'm sure I'll have lots of questions. I put the equiptment together piece by piece via garage sale, used equip at my lfs, and a little bit of new. I have kind of an odd set up sump wise. at least I think it's odd and have been told it's odd. But it was a suggestion from a friend at my LFS that I trust. He swears it will work and I have tested the theory and it does. I just hope it works in it's intended application.
I'll have to post a pic of it later and try to explain and see what you all think of it.

Paul....it was great meeting you as well. I'm glad I called. I almost didn't. I look forward to seeing you at the Frag swap as well as maybe a meeting.

Airin.....are you kidding??? The anticipation is killing me. I have an empty dry tank in my livingroom!!!! But yes.....the beginning is the most exciting part.
I'm sure I'll have lots of questions in the near future....but for tonight....I probably better get off the puter and get some dinner. LOL

That's okay, I had a dry tank in my dining room for the last 2 months. Now it is sitting in my sunroom waiting for the aragacrete rock to dry.

Can you speed things up Aaron?

The RC gallery only has limited space, even with premium membership.

You'd be better off starting a photobucket.com account and hosting pics from there :)

You can just cut and paste your image tags from there to RC and you should be golden!

Good luck, can't wait to see some pics!

May I ask where you saw the flyer? I have it posted all over the place and have hard copies to go to the stores ready now. Just have not had time to hit them all up.
