I'm officially back!!!

Sang,

It's corrugated plastic:

Here's how Sanjay used it:

The liquid isn't just soapy water as some soap is very bad for vinyl. I have a gallon of the solution which makes several gallons of diluted product and I'd be willing to give a little out to a few of you. You don't need much, it atomizes on in small amounts via a spray bottle.

I've used both and I much prefer the real deal over sopay water. Soapy water tends take much longer to allow the adhesive stick, way too long. You tend to get curled corners and areas that just didn't stick.
Where can this liquid be purchase at? I agree with the curling corners, sometimes it happens over time, not immediately when using soapy water. I know. :mad:

A sign supply house which there are a few in the bay area from what I've been told. My sign people give it to me since I do so much volume with them :)

Well, the stuff from MD did the trick! I took some pics but my damn desktop computer is done for.:( I can't seem to figure out how to load the pics on to my laptop. Anyways, the rear of the tank is black now. I also put it on the bottom but it didn't turn out so well. Apparantly due to the double layer of glass on the bottom of the tank, the black vinyl does not penetrate through it. I just realized that I do get a cool mirror reflection from the bottom though.

yeah my bottom has an amazing mirror look to it looking from any side glass. from top down you can see though.

Tank is officially cycled!

Ammonia=0
Nitrite=0
Nitrate=12 ppm

I'm going to do a 90% water change and order a couple fish! Live Aquaria, here I come!!:)

Actually, I'm probably not going with any wrasses this time due to the wide open nature of my tank. I had a bad experience with a Golden Rhomboid and his carpet surfing adventure.:( I'm going to try ventralis anthias from Live Aquaria. I know it's a huge risk, but I just love those fish. I'm going with those first as they will be the only fish in the tank. That will give them a fighting chance at survival. I also don't have any lights on the tank yet so that will also help the shy fish.

hey sang, I'm planning on going with anthias first too... but don't they need a ton of planktonic food? I'm thinking in a tank full of pods and snail eggs floating around may be best?

I was going to "dose" my tank with tons of pods, tigger pods, etc. and have a really strong population of those before adding (meaning 3 - 4 months down the line).

Or are you able to feed them often during the day? Or am I totally off? Do they not need better feeding environments than fish like... say clownfish?

I think it would definitely serve the anthias if we had a lot of plankton in the tanks. However, I plan on feeding 2-3x/day and anthias can survive on mysid, enriched brine, and other foods. I'm not a fan of tigger pods as they are really a cold water species and don't live too long in our tanks. It would definitely be worth it to wait, but I am impatient:) In my last tank, I added an interruptus angel within 4 weeks of the tank setup.

Yeah I want an interruptus some day too =) those are so sweet! too bad they're not being cb anymore?

I didn't know tigger pods were cold water, good to know, thanks for that. (I did wonder how they survive in refrigerators at the LFS)...

I may try to feed 2 - 3x a day, but when I'm gone weekends (business and what not) they may not get more than 1 feeding a day. Would that suffice?

Just not true. While they come from an area that is cold, and they can survive quite well in the cold, they can live in warmer temps and survive just fine. The aren't from the ocean Sang, they live in the UPPPER SPLASH ZONE. I ahve seen them live in pools in the upper 90's for weeks on end until the tide/wave action was able to replentish their pool. We grow ours at mid 70's and we do millions and millions of them. I have them breeding in my reef as do hundreds of other reefers. Just because your attempt failled does not equate to them not living in tropical temps.

I bought a couple bottles from Adelaide (spelling?) and they were never seen again. Other reefers I know had similar results. I'm glad that they can survive in warmer waters as I would like to try them again.

I wouldn't worry about missing multiple feedings on weekends, Kinetic. I had a few anthias and only fed them once/day and they did great. Obviously, 2-3 feedings is much better. Which anthias are you considering?

I've never kept anthias before, so I was thinking about barlett's since they're known to be the anthias with the highest survival rate in captivity... but I'd really like to go for a different one that's more colorful, but fearful they wouldn't do well. What factors in on how well they do? Given spot on tank parameters and no other fish, is there anything special you were thinking of doing with the ventralis?

Art- I have had a lot of success with lyretails as well. I think I am 5 out of 7 success rate with them.

Yeah, I had some lyretails, aka squammi's and they did great. As far as doing things differently with the ventralis, I plan on keeping the tank dark (LOL, I don't have lights anyways) and feeding them a lot for the first 2-3 weeks. This should really test my skimmer.:)

Hmm... maybe I'll try them too.

I saw your post in copp's angel thread, are you getting interruptus again?

I'm going to try my hardest. I tried to contact the person I sold them to, but was unable to reach him.:(
