I am very sad. In the middle of march i ordered 2 onyx clowns from Rod. My male has completely vanished. I did see "jr" in the overflow, but when i came back to fish him out he was not in there. no where to be found. I looked around the tank on the carpet no "jr". I pulled my durso to let the overflow drain into the sump. Still no "jr" not in the overflow or in the sump. I have no idea what happened. I even put alittle bit of Rods food in the overflow to see if he would come peeking out . Nothing. So basically i am looking for another onyx clown. I do need it pretty quickly since my female is growing like a weed. I know Rod wont have any available til around August. Does anyone know of some where i could get one? Does Rod supply any vendor with his clowns?

Why do you need another quickly if it looks like you will have a female and Rod will have unsexed juveniles? I couldn't think of a better scenerio to form a pair.

i wanted to watch them grow up together. My female will be so much larger then the tiny juvi i would get from Rod would she just bully him to death?

I think she'd just bully him for a couple days to establish dominance. Once the other clown realizes shes the boss I think they will be fine.

well a update on "jr" i did find him but i found him dead

he got sucked into my durso, and from there he got drained down into my refugium plumbing and had no way to get out of there... he was starting to get his black markings also.

I guess i need to give Rod a call.

Damn sorry to hear about this,

wait for rod to have juvies ready again, if you add a really small one to the tank with the bigger female there wont be much bullying at all, the size difference helps with aggression.

Thanks GSM. I dont know how he get in the overflow i have it covered with the gutter guard but some how he still found his way in there.

And if you remember the plumbing from tank to the sump/fuge i have the tank drain Teed off with a ball valve going to the fuge with a spraybar. So i pulled the spraybar in the fuge, and opened the gate valve to flush it out, and here he comes flowing out of the bulkhead into the fuge....
