I'm trying not to go the none organic way of getting rid of flat worms. I have two tanks my 150 gallon has flatworms in the refuge and my nano well just has them. Any ideas out there????

fresh water dipping everything,a few wasses eat them & you can see if the local lfs can get you a couple of the blue stripped nudibranch (chelidonura varians).

I used to have a scooter blennie that wouldn't touch them. I assume mandarins would be a "some do some don't" type solution.

I know the Psudochromis are supposed to eat Bristle worms, Seems logical they would mac flat worms too but be advised they are mean as hell. I think 6 line wrasses are supposed to be pretty good on them and those tend to be good citizens. If you want to go without using the chemicals you probably will never get rid of them so choose control fish you like.

I appreciate the fact that you want to go "natural" here, bu using Flatworm Exit is completely safe and very quick. Follow the directions and use 3-4 X the recommended dosage and you will be good to go. Do that twice and they should all be gone.

I used to have red planaria flatworms in my last tank and my six-line loved them.

i finally just used flatworm exit like leif said as they were multiplying like crazy in the overflow and sump where my 6-line couldn't go...

Thats the thing, if you have predators to keep them from doing damage to the corals in the display it isn't a big deal but if you ever lose the fish that are feeding on them you are back to step one. You also shouldn't sell or trade corals without letting buyers know you have them in your system.

I agree that using Flatworm Exit will inevitably be the only option. You might as well do it before it becomes even more of a problem. Flatworms can reproduce like crazy and reach plague proportions in no time.

I would never trade to someone without letting them know ! And i will see if the way I am going is the best way I like the natural way and will continue that until it is to much. But flatworms are a natural way of life and I don't have coral in there yet that will be in danger. so up until then Die flatworms die and feed what ever consumes you!! LOL

Honestly as long as you consider the flatworms as part of your system they will provide meaty treats for your critters so it really isn't that bad. Bristle worms arent bad unless you let them get out of hand.

i used a mystery wrasse and a green spotted mandarin to clear mine.. i also had to manually remove some as well. good luck
