In search of Aptasia eating Nudi

Anyone know where to get a pair of aptasia eating nudis? Linda had a great idea at the last meeting about passing them on after the aptasias are gone. Say I pay 40$ for one, I pass it on to the next guy who gives me 40$ and so on that way its fair and if it dies then it isn't a loss to the guy who bought it originally. Regardless I am getting them if I can find them.

I told Matthew about the idea, but it wasn't mine. The group Rental of a nudibranch idea was conceived after the sad ending of Amy's beloved nudibranch.

I think it's a great idea. The animal has a better chance of not starving and it would benefit many peoples tanks.

Nudibranches don't have very long lifespans regardless of whether their foodsource is supplied or not. This species lifespan is probably about 6 months.

Hi guys

had 3 of them in my 90, went to 40, ate about 300++ aptasia all the way down to spot , lived for a good 2yrs after ward, maybe not alot 1-2 but stilll

SWAMP Bottom has them for 16 apiece was thinking of getting 3 for my system, maybe if we get togeather he can give us a break ???

A piece of advice get 2 and make sure they are almost breader sizes or will take a couple of weeks to get to the right size.....

Beleive he mentioned getting them only if all were spoken for and paid. This was brought up months back around Snail Day II.

ok, we could all pay pall the money togeather and one guy goes and charges them ?

any way if not good luck .....

I'm definitely interested in getting a few. It's time turn my wife's Aptasia farm back into a reef tank. :D

How many aptasia do I need to warrant buying one (or two)?
I don't have alot (maybe a doz or so - hard to tell), but enough that they can eventually get outa control.

Msybe 6 months is on the short end, but I doubt there is any nudibranch that lives more than a year or two at most, so you got a lot out of those guys. Of course, they lay eggs prolifically, sure it was the same 3?

$16 apiece is already a very good price for those guys, IMO.

I have dozens of aptasias and they are quickly multiplying so I wanna get the ball rolling I will call swamp bottom and ask.

Ok, I talked to Tony he said that he just ordered some that will arrive later this week (about 10). He has been reading this thread and said they are probably gonna cost more than 16$ because they just do, and he has never been able to do them that cheap. He also informed me that if we organize a group buy he can give us a deal. I am thinking I am just gonna go and grab some asap because I have a major infestation(in excess of 60 large aptasia in a 65 gallon tank).
