In Wall Tank Pictures/Ideas!?!

lol we are crazy in love with this hooby

I actually just moved last August and a couple of the house choices were no good for me for aquarium reasons. My wife did not always know that was the case but what she does not know won't hurt her!

I'm a reefaholic and proud of it. I even own domain rights to reefaholic.com:D Once I get my build up and running hopefully I'll have that site spun up next spring around this time!

Anyone else out there with great looking pics of in-wall build?!

Here is one side of my 450. Will be putting more pics up when I write my build thread. Not the greatest photo but it's off my phone.

3 year old thread...I know. But could we continue this? Trying to figure out what to do with mine at the moment. Would love to see whats out there. And would be great to include whats around the tank also...just for fun.

Here is my update in-wall view.
On the right i built a frame to match my tank. I have my iPad there to control my tank with apex fusion.

Looks great. Very neat and clean. I like that. How has it been not being able to access from the front? Do you regret it?

Mine is garage only access.

Not at all..... I don't need to access it from the front.
Feeding is done through the back as well as all maintenance. I have my feeding on automatic feeders so I am not making 3 trips to the garage a day.
:fun2:

I really like the way you have designed the rockwork to suspend from the top back instead of the usual pile of rubble.

Having almost all my sand surface uncovered is great.

If I could do it again though, I'd pick a mid/high level attach point instead.

Having it so close to the end-end weir is a huge invitation for creatures to get sucked in.

It also defeats the benefits of the weir.. 20-20 hindsight..

Perhaps some sort of gutterguard wrap or plastic window screen material might help cut down on the number of critters doing a Niagara-in-a-barrel on you.

Just realized I never followed up on this thread from all the inspiration.

Hole cut.
