LPS condy? I assume you mean a condy anemone not an LPS coral? That kind of lighting do you have? How long has your tank been set up? You have more than one? How big is your tank? How about water parameters?

Anemones can inflate and deflate for a variety of reasons, sometimes it's no big deal and sometimes they are unhappy (and may start to wander). When mine have deflated they usually reinflate in 1-3 days. My purple tip just did this cycle in the last couple of days (I also have a green condy).

If it's a purple tip it probably shouldn't be turning brown (off white or ivory maybe). Healthy purple tips are either white with purple tips or all purple (I see hundreds of them where I snorkel).

I'd suggest you just watch it for a few days.

20g tank with 2 condys been running for maybe 5-6 weeks 1 is purple the other white("it's the one that's off white now") the light is and "ocean sun"????no metal hd.... Not familiar wit parameters maybe I should've done more research before such a venture....how to know water parameters....are/should be

I'll agree with you there. The typical recommendation is that anemones don't go into an aquarium unless it's about 6-9 months old. As the post above says, you need to get water test kits for ammonia, nitrate, pH and salinity. OK, so it's a new tank, what kind of water did you use to start this project? Do you know the temperature of your water? With a 20g tank (which is shallow) and a 10K PC (Power Compact) or t5 flourescent bulbs (that's what I think your Ocean Sun bulbs or fixture is), you may have just enough light. I assume there are at least 2 bulbs in your fixture?

Go to the 'New to the Hobby' thread at the top of the list under General Interest Fourms and read the 'stickies' (the top 14 threads), that should help you out a lot. Here is a link:
