Informal get together for locals

Ya, my Frogspawn went to Jeff at Aqua World. I did not know they were put on the endangered species list. Mine grows like a weed also.
Pittsburgh, I would be interested in a frag of your Miyagi Tort and your unknown acro - bring it along with you.
I also have the Meteor shower growing on a large rock as well.

I can make a frag of a green slimer type of Acro - if anybody is interested. I got a multi head frag of Frogspawn from Dawn a few months ago - doing well and will certainly frag it out soon to those interested.

My plaster ceiling fell into my tank recently and wiped pretty much everything out, as some of you know, I would be interested in anything and all frag donations. Thanks, see you all tomorrow.

Wow= that is a new one- have heard of many situations of causing a tank to crash- but never a ceiling falling.

I will bring what I can. Do you have lights for SPS?

plaster crash

If someone coming today knows how to frag Euphyllia, I have a green hammer and a purple one along with a Duncan or 2.

I have one other RBTA on the glass if anyone wants it. I have smoke bushes if anyboby wants them.

Misled -what are smoke bushes?

Jamie- will bring a frag of green SPS ( similar to a slimer) and a frag of hollywood stunner that I got from Mondo. And head of Frogspawn.

Kevin- fraging Euphyllia is easy with a Dremmel tool. I can bring mine if you don't have one. Make sure you have goggles, and a place (plastic bin /tupperwear) to do the fraggin in. Plastic gloves help as well.

ahh... so it wasn't a name for a coral I had never heard of -LOL. Sure actually have need of a new bush- how big?

Sorry Jamie-no frogspawn- too difficult to get it out of the rockwork to make a frag. But, I do have a frag of purple monty cap for you. Do about 1.4 inch piece of green slimer, a 1.5 inch square of hollywood stunner, and the 1 inch piece of purple cap.

Don't have dremmel, but have band saw. What ever works best.
I'll wait and see what everyone brings to help Jamie out before cutting.

I'll bring a couple of heads of frogspawn as well for Jamie.

Also got a couple of frags of neon green monti spongodes in case anyone's interested.

That was a lot of fun yesterday at Kevin's place where 7 of us met for our monthly "get together". Kevin's generosity at being host and giving away a multitude of frags was unprecedented. Several of us brought frags for others and received frags as well. I hope next months "get together" is as good my at my place. However, a few things that will have to be understood:

1) I do not have a freaking awesome multi-tank system that I can give frags from.
2) I don't have a pristine yard and house that could be featured in magazine.

Seriously Kevin - super place and please say thanks to your wife for putting up with a bunch of strangers in her beautiful home.

So, if anybody wants to come to a "normal" home in Gibsonia (15044), that has a 65 mixed reef tank that has been setup for 4 months in November, please comment on dates/time that work best for you.

The preliminary date is 11/22/15 - does not conflict with PMASI ( which is the second Saturday of the month) and is a week before Thanksgiving. Time is flexible as the Steeler's have a bye week so no major traffic hassles for those that have to travel around or thru downtown.

We have plenty of time to change location/date/time around if someone in in a different area of Pittsburgh wants to host as each "get together " has been in the north and the whole idea is to spread these things around in the whole area - not just the north. Please let us know if you wish to host either next month or in the future.

* I will be sending an Email today to all that wrote down their email yesterday- if you don't get one -let me know. *

Jamie- your email was undeliverable- Pm me - I probably read your writing incorrectly.

Hey guy's, I had a blast!!!
Alex, Greg & Ted, nice meeting you all!

Tracey & I enjoyed the get together very much & would love to do it again down the road sometime.

Jesse, as always! Thanks a lot!
Dawn, would love to see the new tank, the pictures were awesome!
Jamie, I hope you are waking up to a full tank of new coral. I think everyone pitched in to help a fellow refer out in a time of need!! (that is what makes this so GREAT!)

Ted, u know I'm in for the next meeting..

I agree with the overall sentiment that yesterday's meeting was really great. I enjoyed it so much.
Kevin and Tracey, thank you both very much for opening your lovely home and providing such a warm and hospitable atmosphere. Kevin, the green slimer, birdsnest and misc coral are beautiful additions to my tank. I really appreciate your generosity. I hope that I can have the same success as you do with them. Your tank is magnificent.

Jesse and Ted, it was great to see you guys again. Ted, I will look forward to seeing your tank next month if the meeting is at your place. Your proposed date works for me.

Alex and Greg, it was very nice meeting you both. Alex, thank you for explaining RO/DI filters more thoroughly to me as that was very helpful.

Jamie, I hope you are having fun with the new additions for your tank. Everyone chipping in to help is what it's all about.

Looking forward to next month.
