Inland Empire Reefers, Where are you?

You Talkin' To Me!

You Talkin' To Me!

I guess everyone in IE like to make long drives!:D
I'm up for it. Sometimes bigger isn't always better!

I don't mind driving to Encino. I drive to westside, valley, and everywhere else from up here. But not taking anything away from LA clubs, I think it's about time to put IE on the map. Officially. It would sure encourage a lot more people out here. (Newbees and addicts alike. I'm totally in. Eric C

I'm all for it.

I think the clubs out west are great. Just not practical or convenient to participate on a regular basis... such as monthly meetings due to the time required to drive. Without active participation there really is no point in becoming a member.

Does anyone have experience in the operations of these clubs? And is it being suggested that this be a formal club, or just a bunch of reefer fanatics. If it's formal is there a club that we just become a chapter of? This would be much easier as the bylaws and such would already be in place. The problem with informality is that without these "rules" groups just tend to fade away due to the lack of direction.

Count me in, FWIW. I will commit some time to this and we will need others also to do the same.

If we just want to get together once in a while for swapping corals & BS, that's ok to.

I live in Grand Terrace (which is between Riverside and San Bernardino off the 91/215) and my house is open for a get together before years end or shortly after if some would like to meet a discuss the formation. For those in the High Desert I think we need to find how many of you there are. If substantial, maybe things will need to be moved around to keep your side of the mountain active (not trying to be fair). But then those of you that live up there are kinda use to long drives. :D

So to make a short story long... we need a group of dedicated people to make this work long term.

Can't say I have the experience, but I would sure love to help out in any way. Steve, Do you think just a couple of informal meetings like swapping & hanging out can be a starting point? I do. As the meetings pick up momentum we can decide on all the details? Im sure people up here do not mind driving down the hill as opposed to driving to LA/VALLLEY in traffic.

As far as I know there is Eric B and a guy I met the other day Tracy Gray up here. I'm sure there is more. Maybe this club would entice them out of the closet. I'm sure for swaps and maybe even meetings reefers from O.C. would make the drive as well. Where do we go from here? Steve by the way those Xenia are doing great, Thanks Eric C

So now your blessed:D Still would like your support if we would start a club in the IE. Eric

What happened to it?

The Dingo's ate my tank:lol:

hey Brian, I hear you've been hanging out at Aquatic Creations?

Hows the new tank working out for you? Say hi to Mom and Dad for me, their great people.

This is where the REAL reefers hang out in the INLAND! Everyone out here usually ownes a house and with a house it must be properly furnished with a top notch fish tank!!

I know plenty of hardcore inland reefers but i know they woudlnt be intrested in clubs. With 20 or so members every week meetings will get smaller and smaller to the point where there will be no club. If i am wrong and im usually am I vote my self to be the treasurer!!!

Hey Mark,
My mom is waiting for you to get your new tank so she can help you move it in to your house. Aquatic Creations is like a block away from work, so I usually hit it on my way home. The tank has a leak that I'm fixing but no biggy. Got some good advice from people like Paul. It'll be up and running again by Wednesday.

LOL, I'd love to have your mom come over and help me. I couldn't believe how strong she is, probably from wacking you and your friends upside the head for 20 years:lol:

Leak!!! where was it leaking from?

You know I'm about a mile north of Aquatic Creations? I'm just east of Archibald below 19th.

Hey Paul, how the hec are you? its coming soon my good friend, sooooooooooon.

golfish,
Just a small leak on the bottom right corner near the overflow. I took paul's advice on how to fix it and so far it looks ok. I'm putting water in it on Wednesday, then moving it back into my house on Saturday (actually just strapping it on my mom's back so she can move it in while I watch the football games...)
I work just off of Haven and 4th, right next to Empire Lakes golf course, let me know if you need help moving the tank, once you get it.

That's what I like, straight to the point.

Very true... but worth a try. If we try and fail it will give SCM something with merit to harass us about.:D You just gotta love those 1-line posts.

I'm still in.

Hi Anthony.
