Inland Empire Reefers, Where are you?

I would consider being a part of, though it would depend when the meeting are. I work in OC and live down by Lake Elsinore so my weekdays are pretty busy.
Once I get my tank finish I could host a meeting here and their also (if on the weekends)

I believe Paul offered his house for the meeting. :smokin:

"As far as I know there is Eric B and a guy I met the other day Tracy Gray up here. I'm sure there is more. Maybe this club would entice them out of the closet. I'm sure for swaps and maybe even meetings reefers from O.C. would make the drive as well. Where do we go from here? Steve by the way those Xenia are doing great, Thanks Eric C

Wow Eric.. how offensive.... What about me =) lol

There are actually quite a bit more than that. I just palyed pool with a acustomer, he tried to beat me to win my tort frag , hehe I won so I got money and kept the frag =).. but seriously I would guess there wold be 6-7 additional serious reefers than Eric mentioned out of the High Desert.

I'm still up for it! at least for a frag trade or something in the IE. Even if we get together just to meet each other, maybe an IE tank tour?

Steve U. is still in if we can ever just set a time and place to start. I'm for and informal get together at one house though. I'm not really sure I'm into driving all over the IE if that's what a "Tank Tour" is.

If needed I can offer my house in Grand Terrace for the first one. Saturday early afternoons is best for me. Sunday's I have car shows/swaps many times.

I have made this offer before and supplied dates which have all since expired. I'm also hoping that a comment made by the infamous "Skinychinaman" about the inability of the IE forming anything is in fact not true. Oh Anthony, if your'e in here, the new site looks much better as I don't have to wait for all the *od *amn zo pictures to load to see the 3 SPS online.

Wilbur...
If you still need the lime let me know, if not it's no big deal as I'm using about 1/2 pound per week. I bought 25lbs and it will last me about a year. The only difference I see is that the Mrs. Wages has ALOT more impurities in it. Alot of dark stuff at the bottom of the mixing bucket campared to Kent KW.

Hey Guys,

I'm up for a meeting/swap/tank tour. What is considered central IE? I live in Chino which I think is more on the west side of the IE. If you guys were willing to drive, I could probably host a swap/meeting at my house. I've got a pool table, ping pong table and a big screen to keep everyone busy when not talking reefing. Two bbqs and an extra fridge in the garage for all the beer  will make sure everyone is well fed and hydrated. :D

I know reefer6 lives in Chino Hills along with turtlspd. Maybe he would want to join in the fun too. Oh yeah, and reefer6 has the 360 gallon tank we could all go swimming in during the summer.

As far as I'm concerned, Chino Hills is in the IE. Thanks for the offer. If we did some sort of tank tour first, we would just have to organize it so we didn't backtrack and zig-zag all over the area. It's not offen that we get to see other hobbyist tanks unless we know that reefer personally. Anyone else have any other ideas.

Tank Tour sounds good

Tank Tour sounds good

We can end it here at my house if you guys would like. I am the farthest of all I would imagine. I do have alot of room to host a lot of people and I have 4 tanks. We can Bar-B-Que too. Just a suggestion.

I guess a start would be to post who is willing to have people over there house nad then I guess we can poll which house people would like to visit. Then we can determine the route or order in which we would travel. Just another sugestion.

Todd, no offense to not mentioning ya bud. It was before I met you and knew that just because you had an LFS you were a true hobbyist at heart.:D

No problem .. I think I was just looking for some gratifying good words =) I did realize that you posted that back in Oct or Nov.

Todd

BTW Frag me a piece of that coral already =)

I.E. brothers, lets unite!!

This shiznit always gets talked about, but people who are seriously willing to have people over their house need to step forward.

BTW - Even if it did start off small, that is cool anyways. I had fun just hanging out with Mike (kingsfan) and that was just 2 people! Steve U. place sounds good. If needed I can have people over, but after seeing Larry's place and now Dave B.'s place, my house is a little undersized. Lets do this.

So Far

So Far

gcarrol NORCO

JellyTheory CHINO

grestoration GRAND TERRACE

socareefer RIVERSIDE

myself(ejocam) VICTORVILLE

have offered to open their house for tank tour. Whoever else is intersted please post. After we have a descent amount, we can either vote/poll which house wouldm be visited. Please refer others tyo the thread that you know are from the area so we can have maximum output. Thanks

I would be more than happy to have you all out to my shop for my show tank and frag stations. I am not volunteering Tracey Gray but I would think Tracey would want to be involved and I can ask him if he wants to be part of the tank tour. Matt Temme has a small only 40 g tank but awesome corals and a cool sponge sump, kind of similar to what Tyree talks about.

BTW Eric Frag that coral man =)

OK...

I elect EJOCAM to keep track of all who would like to be visited since he already has a short list.:D

If we can get 5-6 in the same end of the 2-county area then I would thinks that's enough. That way we might keep this going on a regular basis and not have it all a day of driving. Maybe end up somewhere to eat, be it at someones house or at a restaurant.

Why not start in the Norco/Corona/Mira Loma area and work from there... or the high desert and work the other way.

Steve U

Well were getting feedback and that is a start. Steve as you said, lets get 5-6 within the IE and go from there. It would be nice for those interested to confirm here on the board and I will confirm with PM. " I believe the seed has been planted" now it just needs some watering!
