Installed a reef safe 1 lb check valve (clear) on inlet side (in the sump) of my return pump. I know it can reduce flow but not concerned with the reduction. I know these have tendency to fail but don't they usually fail in open position? My sump has the capacity I only wanted the check valve to slow the storm when my pump restarts from standby mode for feeding. Am I missing something or is this install acceptable? Placing it on the inlet side gave the least amount of air void on the restart and reduced the bubble storm.
