tool repair man
got my sid back today and installed myreef 2.0
after spending 30 minutes updating each module seperately, it was up and running, then i had to do a headunit reset, as instructed, and all my setting for everything were gone!
i spent the last 2 hrs reprograming everything again
now its up and running and seems pretty cool.

i couldnt get my lights to turn on/off on schedule. and my temp was wacked i kida gave up for a while. i spend a day wrestling with it????

i had some problems also, so i programmed it from the headunit and it worked fine now....
my temps keep moving up and down 1-2 degree

I think I am going to wait until the bugs are worked out before installing it.

What are your initial impressions?

even hearing that Mitch i dont want any part of it. so im back to timers for a while. from my understanding you cannot go back to the old version with the head unit.

The 2 SIDS i got do not even work! After borrowing one that did from a friend It took a long time to get anything programed back into the unit. You go through the proper set up and nothing works after you are done. I am fustrated to say the least as at least the old 1.11 worked now this won't even turn a light on properly after you program it, plus the heater setting process has changed and there are no new directions (You just have to figure it out yourself) UGGH gave up for now, should have left well enough alone. D.A. Silent as usual with no help on their site. Think twice B4 you switch this to MyReef until they work all the bugs out.

considering its free, its impressive
you can program the modules with names and it shows on the headunit now, instead of haveing 4-5 pc4s they have names now

i knoticed all the programing problems from the software were fixable from the head unit....
which means their is still bugs in the software as they say, this is why its beta i guess, for us to be testers to find the bugs!

Sounds good Mitch. I was messing with it the other night and it was impressive. It leaves room for so many more open doors thats for sure.

Most people need to realize when your using a beta version its called that for a reason. If it worked perfectly it wouldn't be called a beta. If your a beginner D.A. user or dont have the patients to work around errors or live with the discrepancies for the moment you should think twice about it. All software is put out to an extent in beta versions. That's the purpose of it, to get input into issues that arise outside of lab settings. You cant blame the company. Its the fastest way to insure all gen use issues are worked out.

Which is exactly why I am waiting for the official release....I don't need headaches at the moment. However, based on what I hear, I am very excited for the full release to come out! Time to send in my SID.

i sent in my sid last week and got it back in less than a week,
i just think its funny how people are complaining about things not working and bugs and flaws, tho they download and setup the software knowing its a beta and is clearly stated it has bugs and flaws right now...
if you cant deal with the fact that it might crash your whole reefkeeper setup, then its probably not a good idea to play with the beta
for people like me, i cant resist, and always have a backup plan if failure happens

Mitch are your temps stilll in flux?

So from your home screen on your head unit how is your temp diplayed? Now when I scroll up/down I have 5 selections that display 01:00000000. 2 say open at the end one displays a temp in F. one a fluxing number now showing 11.21 then the last shows 302 (Im assuming one is ph one orp)? After that it is like it always was diplaying the pc#and chanel number. Mind you this is all from your home screen on your head unit .

My temperature doesnt change.

And when I go in to program it It has a target and shows -276F lol. Then below it raw data another fluxing number -40. ummmmm

my temps seem ok now, i did see that section that said my temp was -276 out of cal or something, but didint touch since i had no idea what it was
