installing PLA-1011 PLM-PWC

got it thanks will try it tonight maybe because i am trying to get connected to the profilux via my LAN connection :)

That's the easy bit Michael lol, don't forget to set up port forwarding to access the profilux remotly, I use the dyndns account.

To access over your LAN should just be plug and play mate

So you do realize I am going to have to ask is there a walk through on that? I did connect the LAN line after two hours of running the line throughout the hise almost 75 feet away from the router. Not to mention my wife going crazy about another line from the dowstiars to the loft three stories away. OH well the fish tank needs its LOL . So now what are the next steps on getting connected to the internet and the APP? I also would like to get email alerts ETC

I think in a few more weeks everything should be hooked up and running.

Michael

You will find LAN a lot more stable.

My house is 120 feet wide (37 meters) so have to use a wifi extender half way to get signal strength as the router sits in the main family room and my office is 110' the other end. I was going to Ethernet it for the above mentioned reasons, but 1/3 of the house has crawl space designed for a rabbit, and I cant seem to find a trained rabbit to fish the cable ;)

you have mail

OMG I don't know what you did to my project but it worked like a charm Outstanding, Also I don't know if its me but the light coming off the leds look brighter. Its like the profilux has transformed my light fixture into something new. I will take par readings this weekend to see if i am correct. Again thank you so much as i am fully wireless from profilux to mitras.

I bought the dyndns for two years and don't really understand why i need this as it was an added expense for $50 bucks for two years. I am already connected to the LAN but I cannot connect with APP why? I have IP address but it say no response from device. I also had to get a new router as the one i had was password connected and I was not able to port forward. I really wish this was not so complicated. Now did i really need to purchase dyndns to get access to my profilux from a PC and the APP?
Again thank you for all the help and guidance.

Type your dyn address into your browser and see if it pulls up the profilux web page.

no, you need no DynDNS, no port forwarding or anything else fancy to access the ProfiLux with your PC or yoursmartphone in your local network (at home)
you just enter the local IP (which is already known, otherwise you couldn't connect with the PC) in the smartphone settings, connect, that's it

if you want to connect from "outside" ( = not at home, via internet) then you need DynDNS with port forwarding

But: please post detailled questions like this in our support forum, there you will get immediate response from our support team, our experts are able to answer all your questions!

If you still have touble to connect or if you have further questions please post them here:

Finally got it to work in my house only on my PC I will try when I get home today to play around with the app.
I am still waiting for my new router so I can then port forward. I am going to say this publicly and please don't get upset. But paying to connect to your device $25 bucks a year is not a good selling point GHL. If I had know I would have to have paid to connect to my device I would probably have bought the other brand which by the way doesn't require all this. But for now I am still very pleased with the support and your products are top notched. Thanks again and I will let you no how I progress.

Hi

1. there are free DNS-Accounts, for example http://freedns.afraid.org/

2. in a few weeks we will have myGHL for ProfiLux - then will all these problems be history
at this very moment we are working on it

PS: you can say whatever you want publicly, no reason to get upset

Both Apex and Profilux use this feature [as well as many other devices that can be controlled or monitored remotely]. Dynamic DNS allows you to access your home devices remotely in an easy manner; why? Because the IP address your ISP leases you may change from time to time; so Dynamic DNS allows you to use a "name" that maps to whatever public IP address your ISP gives you - even if it changes overnight. It also simplifies it for you; you may not remember your public IP address but you can easily remember names.

Which is easier? Remembering myprofilux.is-found.org or 99.68.121.45?

This is only if you want to access your controller's webserver or app. However, cloud software like MyGHL and Apex Fusion erases the need for this.

Although, I believe you still need Dynamic DNS to access GHL Control Center when away from your home network.

Thanks again for all the help. I am not made at all but frustrated is more of a better description of how I feel. I would like to also say that why waster the free dyndns site supplied when I first asked? Well in any cae thanks again will let you know who I make out with the porting.

I use DynDNS for both my Apex and Profilux; you pay $25 for 20 different DNS names [literally you could have 20 devices]. That's a pretty damn good deal if you have multiple controllers or have other devices that you can monitor outside of your house.

Are you sure your current router cannot port forward? I haven't seen one that cannot. Text me and if you want I can remote into your PC and set it up. No need to waste money on a new router.

Thank you so much for the kind offer, But yes my router can port forward the problem is the user name and password was not on the router so verzion sent me a completely new set up for free :) I will try and get it hooked up in a few days and report back to everyone how I made out.

Ok so i got home tonight to find my light fixture off. I checked all the connections and everything was plugged in. I then noticed that the power bar led for socket #1 was off. So i went back into the profilux and went into systems than socket outlet then socket to edit 1? i say yes then go to what i renamed it to be illumination yes illuminattion number 1 yes blackout delay 00 enter inv. sw, behavior no save now yes. I then go back into profilux and the switch is still in off position what am i doing wrong? please help

You have the power bar set to Illumination 1 - have you set up the on off times for the lamp in the Illumination 1 schedule?

If you lamp is Mitras there also is no reason to run it through a switchable socket.

No I didn't know I had to do that and are you saying that i should just plug it into a normal outlet?

Yes to use illumination you need to tell the channel what you wish it to do, but as you have mitras just plug it into an available wall socket
