Instant Ocean Salt

Recently bought a tub of salt and realized it was the regular IO, not reef crystals. Haven't noticed any difference though. If one is using 2-part, Kalk, etc.; I wonder whether paying the reef crystals premium is really necessary? Thoughts appreciated.

I use io and dosing to get the levels where i want them. Why pay the extra. Just my 2cents.

My LFS had a great deal on 200g Instant Ocean regular. Sooner or later the reef chems will be used up . I kind of like dosing anyway. Mostly a preference thing I guess.

I dose and use IO. Once used some reef crystals for a water change and all levels shot up way to high. Back to IO and 20 gal water changes every 2 weeks.

I've used regular instant ocean for years with great success. While I never test the water right out of my mixing storage, my tanks water always has great parameters. As such, I feel that mix is pretty good. Especially for the price.

I've tried a few different salts over the years but always find myself going back to Instant Ocean. Good all around salt and the price is always right.

Thanks for all the comments. Is as I suspected - will be bog standard IO for me moving forward.
