Insulation to cover sump

I have my sump in the garage. It is starting to get nippy here in SoCal so looking to cover my sump with insulation so heater doesn't fire as often. Is this the stuff I need to make a shell?

Its what I have over mine in northern Ca. 32f outside.

Rubbermade sumps ae nice because they insulate well

Depends on how much insulation you need. Thicker insulates better.

Do you have room to fit 2" around your sump?

If you don't have space around your sump, there's a product called Reflectix that's thin with a super good R-value. It's pretty cheap on Amazon, but definitely more than the old school insulation.

I have it around my dicus tank which is 10 degrees warmer than my fish room and it works great. Not too pretty, but that shouldn't matter for your sump.
