Intense!

This weekend provided one of the most intensely colored sunsets that I have seen in probably 8 years. It was one of those rare occasion where the colors are so bright, so vivid, and so unreal you just sit there and shake your head (or race around looking for different shots!).

Yeah, people were still talking about this sunset early in the week. We had another nice on the other night but as colorful as it was it didn't match this one. The cloud structure wasn't as nice either.

Yeah Recty, you missed some cool stuff that week. Based on your thread though you had quite the time/photo ops!

I was shooting my 24-105L F4 lens with a borrowed 1dsMk3 body. ISO 200 with an F stop averaging between F8 and F11. Tripod mounted. Most of the shots I liked with with a +2/3 exp compensation. RAW conversion was WB - auto, Picture style - standard, color saturation and tone 0, and sharpness bumped up to 5.

Thanks, it was quite amazing.

Yawn (stretching)....looks like it was a nice sunrise this am too. Was just a bit late to get any pics of it though. The mountains sure did look nice though during the trail ride I did. LOL - sure whish I had disc brakes on the winter bike though. I got off trail once or twice and I guess the rims were warm from braking. Add a little snow, it melts, then freezes...and low and behold, I had like zero braking power after that!! All in a days fun in Alaska :).
