Is there really no interest in captive bred Banggais in our club, or have I done something wrong?

If it is price, please let me know. (Online shipping alone is $30) I don't shop at Sacramento LFS, so I'm totally in the dark there.

I just want my babies to go to homes where they are not doomed to suffer and die.

If the empty tank in my living room was not empty. I would take a few. They are super cute. I think its great that you are breeding them too.

I like them as well, but think they can be found locally for less. Nice work with the successful captive breeding though!

I'm glad you are breeding them, as I'd much prefer to buy captive bred fish. I personally don't like banggais or pjs. They freak me out :)

Wild caught are found for less, but they mostly die because of the virus that the wild caught ones tend to have. You will have much better luck with captive bred and the wild caught are also now red listed so you should never buy them anyway!

Excellent job on breeding them, just don't catch my interest as far as fish go. But 30 dollars to me for healthy captive raised fish seems fair.

I'm like Pete: Banggais and pj's freak me out when they mature. I saw loads this weekend hovering over a reef in a bay area LFS.
Really cute when they're little though.

2 Thumbs up for Captive bred!

2 Thumbs up for Captive bred!

I would love to support captive bred livestock and plan on going out of my way to do just that. CB really is the future of this hobby.

However, I've never been interested in Bangaiis.

Keep up the great work and don't let the slow start in sales discourage you.

They "freak you out?" Ha! What, are they like some sort of devil spawn? You are ok diving with sharks, but the bangaiis make you run for the hills. Too funny!

I planned on getting one or two from you but ended up moving the chromis out my big tank(to accomodate an impulse by, shhh! dont tell Matt W. ;) ) and threw them in the softy tank, so its filled to the rim with fish currently.

I would buy them if i had the money! Because of Christmas coming up and me having 3 kids, money has been significantly diverted to presents.

i got my ORA bangaii for 20, so considering economies of scale, i think 30 is a fair price for a fish raised in a home-based operation. good job! :)

I have my Bangaii that was captive bred in Vallejo but he is pretty aggressive, I wouldn't want to put a smaller one in with him. I think the price is very fair. I just don't have a tank for them.

I don't get the "freak me out" when they mature. They look exactly the same, just bigger. They are majestic fish.

Thank you all for your comments.

pj's get ugly. Scaly and dull. zombie-like. They both 'hover'. Don't like it. Each to their own. Not knocking you or your like for them, just not for me. Just my answer to why I didn't buy yours so you'd know it wasn't personal. No hard feelings.

I'd LOVE one, but just don't have the space in a tank for a happy home..
All my tanks are maxed out for fish..
:(
