Interesting Clownfish Agression

I bought two Sustainable Aquatics Vivid Fancy OCs.

I have had them about two months, together in a 20G.

Now the behavior issue....

They immediately fight during dusk or dawn cycle.

To be more specific... If it goes blue light... The fight is on. Immediately after restoring full spectrum they stop fighting.

Literally. It took me a while to figure it out, but I manually switch to blue they charge each other... If I switch to full before they meet each other they veer away. No fight.

I don't know why. I want them to pair and they even share a clay pot at night but they eliminated my ability to run only actinic.

Any input?

My snow onyx do the same thing, the blue color makes them go from orange to a black and this in my opinion the clown fish sees another clown that normally isn't there.

Thats strange, my clowns seem to just ignore the changes in lighting for the most part
I target feed sometimes at night after moonlights are on and they have associated this with food so they get excited even if I dont do any feeding

Hope your clowns work things out in there relationship :)

No. It's definitely aggression. Locking at the mouth.

That is courtship, foreplay, whatever. If they aren't doing damage to each other, no big deal; this is every common with clowns that are developing sexually. Locking jaws is common foreplay with many fish; SW & FW. Is there a size difference between the two? If so, the big one is the female, if not, wait a while and it will become obvious.

I've had mated clowns with eggs. It looks nothing like courtship that ive seen It's fast. And one ends up cornered and breathing heavy.
