Interesting Duncan Pictures - Would love to see more Duncan Pics

Here is a pic of mine under actinic lighting. They were so neon green, you could easily see them from across the room!

What do you all feed your Duncans, and how do you feed them? I just got some recently and am thinking about starting to feed them.

KingFisher62: The first pic you posted, is that what they look like after they eat? one of mine looked a little bit like that yesterday and I was afraid it was not healthy or something. I dont' feed, but maybe it got a hold of something.

yes the first pic was right after i fed them. I am sure yours was just digesting something!

I usually use a turkey baster to feed mine mysis shrimp, flake food. pellets

Here Is an updated picture of mine.

any tips on keeping the mess down when feeding?

If you only suck up a few mysis shrimp with your turkey baster and you are gentle enough you can feed each head with one or two shrimp with out a lot of waste. shutiing off the powerheads and filters while feeding will help!

+1 King. Target feeding is the best way. I use a pipet to feed all my corals that require target feeding.

Here's one I snapped a little while ago. Thought it was interesting b/c it's normally long polyp/tentacles were all scrunched in for some reason:

Here are some pictures of mine. They love to be fed. I got this as a 9 head piece about a year and a half ago.

Why is it that with duncans and candy canes, they're referred to as "heads" but with other corals, they're called "polyps?"

Is it because when you call it a head, it's easier to get people to part with a chunk of money for it?

Just imagine a zoanthid polyp for $20 each, then a duncan head for $20 each. It just sounds more expensive to pay for the zoanthid than it does the duncan.
