Interesting ocellaris varieties?

Recently lost my female false perc due to some negligence with a powerhead on my part

She was a really awesome misbar as the only stripes she had were here face stripe and tail stripe. No middle stripe at all. So I want to replace her with something interesting. I've looked at Onyx clowns and Picasso clowns, both of which are true percs which I don't want to mix with my remaining false. any suggestions for places to get cool clowns? I don't want another misbar unless it's just like her, completely lacking a middle stripe which I don't think I'd have much luck in finding.

Check an LFS for healthy ones. There are misbars, 'naked' clowns with no bars at all, and black ocellaris clowns. I think they are working on more.

The no stripe clowns are really cool. I seen a pair at a LFS. No white at all, but fins lines in black..Very Cool!!! Seen some misbars called tear drop, where the middle bar is partially developed on the top only. Carl

Black clowns aren't bad, I work at an LFS that gets ORA fish and they aren't available atm. i've seen pics of tear drops too. they are ok, but I do like some white on them. thats why i liked my misbar, she had two stripes but the middle was gone. are there any variants like the picassos for the ocellaris clown?

I really like having the black Ocellaris with the normal Occelaris, interresting to see them together under antinic lighting. My black one isnt truely black though, but a has moe of a sunburst on the face receeding to all black. Interresting. My Black one came from Live Aquaria a few months ago.

liveaquaria gets ORA fish too I think, and iirc, that little bit of orange should turn fully black with age

Does anyone know anything about "snowflake" clowns? Are these ocellaris or true percula? Any online sites that regularly carry them?

Isn't ORA's Picasso...I thought the whole snowflake thing was from England or Germany or something? Not sure though....Carl

This is what I've come up with:

Picasso = ORA = True Perc
Snowflakes = TMC (England) = False Perc

Both are very pricey. Some people say the snowflakes go for around $500 a pair. I actually can contact ORA on a regular basis (the LFS I work for deals with them) but management won't let us get things like Picassos. I was, however, able to request a shipment of misbars and I got one very similar to my lost female. She has no stripe down the middle on one side, while her other side is a perfect full stripe. Not sure if I like it better then my old female who was blank on both sides.

Regardless, I've put her aside for myself to see if her abnormality will grow on me. :rollface:
