Look closely at this one. You can see mouths on the 'wedge' of tissue separated from the main one and one to the right of the barren area. Greg, this is the one you sold me. It's turning from just pretty into a factory!

Nice tank. I plan on putting one together here in a month or so. I take it you took down you other tank as well?

Yup, the 33 is sitting in the garage, waiting for a cleaning. I'll probably sell it in a few weeks. I still have my BioCube, but it's in the garage too. I've thought about making it a clown/anemone tank, but I'm in no hurry to do that. I've still got some cash to spend on house stuff before I can really play reef. I had to take the lawnmower/weedeater plunge yesterday. It was painful, but the yard looks nice!

It's a great footprint, isn't it?

I just got a new acan and some new zoanthids from a LFS down here. The acan is gorgeous. I'll definitely be buying a few more from them. They have anywhere from 4-8'ish heads and they're only $35. Mine has 6-8. I'll try to get some pics up tonight

New pics guys

a good shot of my cyphastrea. It's grown quite a bit since bringing it home. I twas just encrusting on the hexagonal tile you can still see under it. I got it in Jan IIRC.

and finally the acans I picked up down here. I counted 7 heads, 3 babies and 2 small heads growing in. Not bad for $35

The frag tank is up and running!

I plumbed it in today and filled it tonight. I have a split on the drain from my display tank with ball valves on each side. I have them adjusted to give 60'ish% of the flow to the sump and the rest to the frag tank between the two. The flow is balanced and working beautifully. I can completely isolate the frag tank in the case of an emergency QT situation too.

I used a 20L and built a bubble trap in the back left corner. It's from glass and my silicone work looks like that of a budget boob job doc...ugly but functional :P
The drain is a half inch bulkhead draining to the sump.

To the right of the frag tank I have my power 'system.' It's just an 8 switch DJ power strip from Amazon that works wonders. I"m kicking myself for not buying it sooner. There's no worry of splashing since the flow into the frag tank is really low. Circulation there will come from the powerheads. I'll eventually change the ones you see out for my old koralias in the DT now.

This is the full frag tank. The bare area on the right will be for a small sand bed for (hopefully) future fungia babies and anything else that will benefit from being off the frag rack. Lighting now is a 20" PC fixture that I have as a spare. It'll soon be a 30" 2 bulb Nova Extreme T5 fixture.

And here's the full cabinet shot.
I still need to finish the trim work, build a new canopy, pant the back of the DT black and build a little trim piece to cover the blue foam on the bottom of the tank.

Oh, and I need to get some frags for the frag tank!

I love having it in there. I just close the doors and it's all gone! It works out really well because I don't have a fish room and the tank/stand is the first thing you see walking in through the front door.

If I built it again I'd give myself a few more inches above the frag tank and the sump. It's a little tight in there and 3" on each level would have been a god send. I love having my tank at 45" too. It makes looking at livestock so much easier.

the forum is a little lacking but the couple of stores in Pensacola look pretty solid. I spent some time browsing 2 of them and listening to the owners talk to customers (one was a guy looking to start a tank) and they both offered honest and solid advice. Their livestock selection was a little less than I'd hoped, but that's just because I wanted more eye candy and not more to buy. One store seems to have quite a bit of good stuff but I think I caught them between orders. I'm thinking about swinging by today after my early half day of work and checking things out again.

I ordered my controller last night. It's a reefkeeper lite. I also finally got a Mg test kit so I'll really know what's going on in the tank. I need to get my dosing right so the coral take off again. Soon enough it'll just be time to sit back and watch the tank mature!
