Drunes were you at Minot AFB or Grand Forks?

Im from Minot, just moved here this year

I was stationed at Minot for a few years.

It is a small world I was there from about 1987 - 1998.

Latazyo I was checking out the stand build. Very nice btw. You brought something up I had been thinking about. If I use the Tunze Wavebox I will have a significant amout of water movement. Considering the water weight alone is 1260 lbs and I am planning 1500 lbs considering there will be 360 lbs of live rock to displace some of the water weight I figure I am on safe ground.

However, with the water movement in an "inwall" system it will be sitting on double 2x4 framing. Considering I am going to alternate the grain of the wood I should gain some additional strenght that I would not have with a 4x4 but it is something that makes you go........ hummmm.

I might go back to this design, anyone else have thoughts?

Nice setup on the old 125, welcome to the group and I hope you enjoy fun and being teased a little...seems we have a lot of fun and a lot of teasing going on here. Makes it just like home for most of us. I usually say to the newcomers to feel free to ask questions but I have a feeling we will be asking you questions. :D

Welcome to our family, if you feel the need to kick on someone Capo is always a good target, it keeps his blood pressure up and reminds him that we do love him.

Yeah right ......you all love me like I'd love a good case of herpes.:D

Latazyo .... in the click you house to see the tank build I was reading how you built the stand. In there you menioned about the red area not meaning danger but was the area of most stress. The mv score and so on. But the movement of water changes the dynamic of stress on the stand and can cause significant dynamic stress variations.

An example take a small piece of tin move the two opposing sides back and forth sooner or later it will break inthe middle.

Anyone else can pipe in on this as well.

Considering I am thinking of using a wavebox I am now tring to figure out what is the dynamic weight effect on a stand of moving water this way. Tunze describes it as +1 / -1 inch effect at the end of each tank and makes recommendation on glass and adhesion properties, but not much is said about the stand.

I will have to tease him but I need to meet him in person first so I know when to run when I see him later. =D LOL

Hopefully I will bring some useful knowledge to the club. I know I always learn something from everyone I meet. ;D

Dr BDC are you running a Neptue System I saw you have a Aquanotes chart. If so how are you liking it? Would like to hear more about it.

Welcome Drunes!! Glad to meet you. Don't worry about Capo, He's a lil' feller and older than Dirt itself. If you walked away he'd never catch up. Capo's alot like tree's he has rings around him proving his age and he has more rings than any tree could ever hope to gain. He also smells funny ( not sure what the odor is really) we all think it might be old aging odor, scientist haven't been able place his dob (date of birth) just yet or what causes this odor. But all in all he's an alright kinda fella and 100% completely harmless.

This is JMHO but I like either the Octopus or ASM skimmer's. I have the ASM G3 W/recirc with the Mesh Mod and it works just fine. I'm upgrading to a new system in a month or so which will be either a 240g RR or a 280g RR and this time around will have the Octopus http://www.aquacave.com/detail.aspx?ID=1014
running this tank. Just thought I'd share my thoughts on skimmers with you.

Thanks for the welcome, nice skimmer, looking forward to seeing what the 280 ends up looking like.

Capo does sound harmless. =D
