I just picked up an order from reeftopia and am very pleased.

Do micro leg blue hermit crabs eventually become un micro?
What are the hardiest inverts that still get the job done? "Tired of snails that are mostly dead at about a year".

Blueleg hermits stay pretty small, not much larger than the size you buy them. Depends what job it is you want done, hermits are very hardy but tend to pick at corals, esp after you feed them! and they walk across corals causing them to close up. Snails are your best bet, dont add too many and they dont die after a year. Ive had mine (8-10 in a 50gal) for over 3 years and they are growing and spawning.

I have had some that have went from 1/4 inch to nearly 2 inches...

I like snails though I have only had success with very few. I agree on not alot of hermits although if only 1/4 make it and grow to a decent size then it would be worthwhile.
