inverts safe w/ any triggers?

I KEEP on reading about so called "reef safe" triggers, but i had a 4" niger and he destroyed a cleaner i got. I hear about bluethroats, crosshatch etc. And since a bluethroat isn't overly expensive, is it totally completely absolutely positively reef safe? Will he eat my cleaners and peppermint shrimps? I really want him and he seems real nice. All opinions appreciated.

Reef safe and invert safe are two different things. Just because something is sold as reef safe does not mean it is invertebrate safe.

I would try posting in one of the fish forums to find out what triggers other people have had luck with.

Reef Safe:

Sargassum
Crosshatch
Blue throat
Pink Tail

are mostly "invert" safe but ONLY if the inverts are present first. If you add them after the fish...they will likely be food.

My blue throat male and female are great ....they havent bothered any of the inverts!!....a fellow friend of ours had a niger and it wiped out their invert population!

The pink tail is going to be our next inhabitant...ill let you know

thanks every1. Do you think that if i acclimate the inverts and then let them be in the sump for a little while, then release them into rocks in back of tank they'd be ok? Because tomorrow i'm goin to pick up a 2" blue throat for $25 from my lfs that i have on hold. Great deal, and i dunno if that would work or not. help appreciated.
