iPhone 4 vs 4S?

I'm pretty sure I'm switching from Droid to iPhone. I've heard nothing but praise for the iPhone 4 but the 4s is the latest and greatest. I have heard numerous complaints about the 4S. Its expensive. Its hard to get one. The battery is awful. Siri is cool but way unnecessary.

Any of you tech guys help steer me in one direction or another?

I'm by no means a tech guy but I love my iPhone 4. The Siri would be cool but, it's the newest thing and I link to give things time so they can work the kinks out.

I just got a 4S and the wife has the 4.

As I hear the battery issues are across all models & apple is working to fix them. The 4S is faster than the 4 all around & web is faster wireless and cell. Siri is fun. I like being able to read and write text messages while driving through the bluetooth!
 
Either is (IMO) miles ahead of any Droid in terms of aesthetics, function, reliability and speed. I've owned the 4 and currently the 4S. You'll be much happier with the iPhone, regardless of the model.

PS- It's not any more expensive than other smart phones. I got my 4S after a mere 30 minute wait on launch day. An iOS update fixed the battery issue. Siri is actually very useful.
 
I honestly don't notice the difference between the Iphone 4 to Iphone 4s. I have owned every variation. Siri sucks and most of the time fails or is not accurate. I actually dropped 11 phone calls yesterday. I am hoping the next gen comes out soon. I am a little disappointed with 4s. However, I am a tech snob and the people that I know that have their first Iphone as the 4s...love it. So I guess it is all relative to your past experiences. I just wanted a bigger leap between the versions.
 
That's sort of the info I'm looking for. Is it really worth it? I am up to renew and can get the 4 for like $60. The 4S would be considerably more.
 
Either way I think you will be happy. The 4s is faster but other than that and Siri the 4 is the same. I still have a year and a half on my contract so I'm waiting for a jailbreak that's untethered for 5.0.1 at the moment :)
 
I've loved the Droid, but one thing I'm disappointed with is its longevity. I've been literally limping along for the past few months. My nephew is a Mac tech and has me convinced it wont happen if I go iPhone. So far I believe him based on my wife's iphone3. If she can't break it, NO ONE can. It is literally CAKED with makeup and baby slobber 24/7.

I appreciate the input. Going 4S tomorrow.
 
Cool, Get a good case and get Best buy to apply a screen projector. They will do it for $15. I have them do all my devices and no bubbles or problems. If you treat it well you can also sell it when the next one comes out. I got $300 for my iphone 4 since it was scratchless.
 
It seems like everybody has an iphone these days. I guess that I'm a part of the minority here but i can't stand the apple operating system. I don't like the iphone's typing, my HTC EVO 3d is consistently faster than my girlfiends iPhone 4s in all aspects from phone operation to web browsing. Android also has more aps than the iPhone does. I just have been more impressed with the android operating system, and its ease.
