Iris 250 se mh bulbs

anybody try them.. curious how they look/ last
..rebuilding a big reef and they seem to be about half to 1/3 of phoenix or radiums... Im looking at the 14k from hellolights

would be running them off of icecap 250 ballasts

I just received a couple 250 watt HQI 14k from Hellolights. I tested them out and compared them to my older AB 20k. They have a little bit more of a blue tint. This may be because my AB 20k are 12 months old, but so far the lights look great. I have not set up my frag tank to actually look at growth rates and longevity. I won't have it up and running until after the Holidays. I actually want to compare growth and color to my 120w LED setup.

Wow, a little bluer than 20K. Are they still as blue after burn in? I am using DE 250 W Phoenix 14K currently and would like a bulb that is just a bit less blue. Any updates anyone? The Iris are only 30 bucks right now from hellolights.

I actually have my halide setups with practically new bulbs for sale now on on the forum. Check it out. I decided not to set up my frag tank yet, it will not be for several months. You know how that goes.

I bought a pair from HL as they have them on sale (buy 1 get 1 free). I find them VERY similar to Radium bulbs (which I didn't really care for). On an Icecap electronic, the bulb is more bluish. Under an M80, it's more crisp white.
