my aquarium is a 30 gallon cube that is 21 inches high... there is a 150 watt HQI metal halide sitting about 6 inches from the water surface... i was wondering if this is too much light for blastomussas if they are on the sand in direct line of sight from the light...
i also have a perfect place for them (in terms of aquascape and viewing) which is partially under an overhanging rock... a lot of the MH light is still reaching the coral... i would say about 90% compared to if the coral is just sitting in the open sand...
i just bought the coral 2 days ago, and it is not really fluffing up like it did in the store... i'm not sure if it's the light but earlier tonight, i placed it in a really shaded part of the tank... i will see tomorrow if it does better... the only problem with this location is that it's only viewable from the side... i'd rather have it in my selected location but i just want to make sure that it's not getting too much light before i put it back...
so basically, i'm not sure if it's not opening up because it's getting too much light or because it is just getting used to the tank...
