Is a 115v plug a standard wall outlet?

115v is the standard US house plug (15amp) circuit usually I.I style a 20A looks like -I.I
this link though for a spa sale's company shows the differences between a 15A and a 20A electrical outlet:

You must confirm the Amp circuit by looking at the circuit breaker in your fuse panel that controls the outlets in the room.
The circuit that your electric dryer is on is a 220V circuit and has a completely different plug in design. A quick trip to the Hardware store or HomeDepot's electrical dept should get you squared away
