is a watermelon chalice really this much?

225 for a tiny frag.....he told me 275 at RAP when i saw the penny sized piece. great color for sure but i didnt think they wree that much...

no, but people are willing to pay that much so I guess it is. with the right conditions, I've seen it grew from 1//3 of an inch to the size of 1/2 a blank cd within a year or so. Not sure why they are so expensive. JMO.

There are the original, and then the red?

How about people who are selling frags for under $100?

I remember it was expensive a few years back, but not half a penny for $150 or more... more like a decent inch and a half to two inches, for the OG Watermelon.

I'd like to know how to get mine to grow. It has nice color but in eight months I can't see ANY growth.
I should have just printed out a picture of one and laminated it then glued that to a plug. :lol:

Mr. Moore, do you have a recent full shot of your watermelon? The color is beautiful btw.

Unfortunately, most of the watermelon frags that I saw at R.A.P were cut right before the event, so I couldn't quite see the colors.

There are quite a few watermelons, but I feel the Original is the only one that's deserving of its price. A distant second would be the Red. The Original is one of the few LPS out there are actually looks just as good in person as it does in photos. Also, it's combination of color, texture, and pattern really set it apart from the others.

If you can trace the lineage of yours back to Ron's, I wouldn't expect a frag of it would go for any less than $150, unless it was a friendly hook up or trade.

I don't even care for LPS, but this was one of two that I just had to have.

yep...I should have bought one from you for 135 bucks a couple years ago at Dave B. swap. It was a nice big size. Only problem was my tank sucked back then. And it still suck now. Up to now I still think yours is the best looking one regardless if it's original or not.
