Is haddoni carpet egg brooding?

Is Haddoni carpet egg brooding (spelling?), like how the female get the sperm and release baby anemones from the female after they mature.

recently my haddoni carpet (under stress) released some very circular balls, for a second, I thought it might be left over food but after examinating it, it does not look like so. It is about half inch in diameter, whole thing is circular.

Maybe it's just food wrapped in thick thick mucus after, anybody observe that?

Sprung and Delbeek suggest that gigantea possibly reproduce sexually with the females brooding fertilized eggs. Nothing about haddoni, though.

Did you try cutting the ball in half to see what's inside? Inquisitive minds want to know :)

BTW, thanks for the permission, I will get in touch with Carlos shortly.

I will try if I find that "slime ball" again.

I throw away one last night thinking it's just undigested food, but I see another exact one pop out again so I was curious to see if it's actually expelling the eggs/babies due to stress.

I have seen pictures of haddonis releasing eggs (small tan spheres) and pictures of one releasing fully formed babys (like the mom, but dime sized) from the mouth of the mother. I'm pretty sure of the id in both instances.

Here is a video of the egg she release today. This is the third one and both first & second were the same size and color. The egg actually look a bit more pinkish/orange than in the video. I put it into another tank (refugium) and see if anything will hatch but I kinda think she's just releasing them b/c she's stressed.

That looks like encapsulated food to me. I have seen my anemones release things exactly like that.

What have you been feeding your anemone so far? If it is pinkish, my guess is you've been feeding shrimp or krill.

vaporize,
Any chance of a good picture of the thing she released? It seem to be undigested food to me (without a clear picture of it)

I haven't feed it since Monday, I dont think it's undgiested food.

This is the third exact size thing that come out, the thing is it is exactly the same size and I only fed it a thin slides of salmon on Monday. I put it in the refugium on some caulpera, can take a picture later to see if it hatch or not (probably not, I think it's prematurely released due to stress if it's really an egg).
